The tariffs have been postponed for 90 days.

In early April 2025, President Trump introduced new tariffs, including a 10% levy on most imports. The announcement caused market volatility, with sharp declines in stock indices. However, on April 9, Trump’s administration delayed the tariffs for 90 days, excluding China. This move offered temporary relief to the markets, which began to recover.

Additionally, certain products, including computers, smartphones, chips, processors, modems, and solar panels, were exempt from the tariffs. This exemption applied to goods imported after April 5, helping to avoid disruptions in crucial technology sectors.

Despite the delay, tariffs on Chinese goods were raised to 125% in response to China's retaliatory actions. The situation has raised concerns about the long-term effects on global supply chains, production costs, and U.S. consumers. While the tariff delay has offered some market stability, the trade tensions between the U.S. and China remain unresolved.
